Overview

**Dextran-GLA-CTX** is an experimental, water-soluble polymer-drug conjugate developed for prostate cancer. It consists of the taxane cytotoxic agent cabazitaxel covalently linked with gamma-linolenic acid and conjugated to bifunctionalized dextran through a linker. The conjugate is designed to improve cabazitaxel solubility, prolong systemic exposure, enhance tumor accumulation, and improve antitumor activity relative to conventional cabazitaxel formulations. In prostate cancer xenograft models using PC-3 and DU145 cells, dextran-GLA-CTX showed stronger antitumor activity than related dextran-cabazitaxel and other unsaturated-fatty-acid cabazitaxel conjugates.
