Overview

A combination of dextroamphetamine, a central nervous system stimulant, and paroxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Dextroamphetamine works by increasing the release and preventing the reuptake of dopamine in synaptic clefts, while paroxetine works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin. This combination has been studied for the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults, particularly those with comorbid mood or anxiety disorders.
