Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DELFLEX is a peritoneal dialysis solution containing dextrose monohydrate as an osmotic agent, along with essential electrolytes including sodium chloride, sodium lactate, magnesium chloride, and calcium chloride. It is indicated for the treatment of chronic kidney failure (end-stage renal disease) in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis. The solution works by creating an osmotic gradient across the peritoneal membrane to remove excess fluid (ultrafiltration) and metabolic waste products, while simultaneously replenishing or maintaining physiological levels of electrolytes and buffering metabolic acidosis via lactate. It is administered solely via the intraperitoneal route.
