Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DFO Nano Gel is a topical fixed-dose combination gel developed and manufactured by Ozone Pharmaceuticals for the localized relief of pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, joint pain, osteoarthritis, sprains, and strains. The formulation combines four active ingredients: diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) to reduce prostaglandin synthesis; methyl salicylate and menthol, which act as counterirritants and transient receptor potential (TRP) channel agonists (targeting TRPA1, TRPV1, and TRPM8) to produce cooling and warming sensations that distract from deeper pain; and linseed oil (oleum lini), which provides mild anti-inflammatory properties and acts as a penetration enhancer to facilitate deep tissue absorption of the active components.
