Overview

**DFTV** is a preclinical amorphous nano-assembly developed for breast cancer that combines doxorubicin, ferrous sulfate, tannic acid, and vancomycin. It is designed to eradicate intratumoral Gram-positive bacteria while inducing oxidative stress and ferroptosis-associated tumor-cell killing. Doxorubicin contributes DNA damage and topoisomerase II inhibition, vancomycin targets bacterial peptidoglycan precursors, and the iron-containing tannic-acid assembly promotes reactive oxygen species generation and lipid peroxidation. In reported breast-cancer models, DFTV reduced intratumoral Gram-positive bacteria, inflammatory cytokines, tumor growth, postoperative recurrence, and metastasis.
