DG01

DG01 is a small molecule, second-generation androgen receptor (AR) antagonist developed by Suzhou Degen Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It is designed to inhibit the androgen signaling pathway by competitively binding to the androgen receptor, thereby preventing the binding of natural androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. This blockade inhibits the translocation of the receptor into the cell nucleus and its subsequent binding to DNA, which suppresses the transcription of genes essential for the growth and survival of prostate cancer cells. DG01 aims to provide more potent and durable inhibition of the AR pathway compared to first-generation antagonists, potentially overcoming common resistance mechanisms in advanced prostate cancer. It is currently undergoing early-phase clinical evaluation to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy.
