Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DGD is a topical pharmaceutical drug developed by MediWound Ltd. It is a combination product consisting of lyophilized enzymes, specifically purified Bromelain from pineapple stem (referred to as Debrase powder), dissolved in a Gel Vehicle. DGD is designed for enzymatic debridement, a process that removes dead and traumatized tissue, known as eschar, from partial thickness thermal burn wounds. This action aims to prevent local and systemic infections, reduce inflammation, and minimize the extension of the original damage.
