Overview

DGPR1008 is a novel near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent contrast agent designed for the intraoperative identification of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positive prostate cancer. The agent consists of a small-molecule ligand with high affinity for PSMA conjugated to an NIR fluorophore, enabling real-time fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS). By binding specifically to the extracellular domain of PSMA—which is significantly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells compared to normal tissues—DGPR1008 allows surgeons to visualize primary tumors, metastatic lymph nodes, and positive surgical margins during procedures such as radical prostatectomy. Clinical data indicates that DGPR1008 is safe and well-tolerated, providing a high target-to-background ratio (TBR) that enhances the precision of surgical resections.
