Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of dHER2+AS15 cancer immunotherapeutic (ASCI) and lapatinib. The dHER2+AS15 ASCI contains a recombinant protein termed dHER2, which is a truncated version of the HER2 protein commonly overexpressed in breast cancer, combined with the immunological adjuvant AS15 Adjuvant System, a liposomal formulation containing three immunostimulatory components. Lapatinib is an oral dual tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets both HER2 and EGFR. This combination approach aims to leverage both immune stimulation via the cancer vaccine and direct HER2/EGFR inhibition to treat HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer that is resistant to trastuzumab.
