Overview

DIA-T51 (formerly known as H5K1) is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed by Diatheva that targets 1,3-β-glucans, a key polysaccharide component of the fungal cell wall. Derived from the murine monoclonal antibody 2G8, DIA-T51 is designed to treat invasive fungal infections, including those caused by *Candida* (such as *Candida auris* and *Candida albicans*) and *Aspergillus* species. By binding to 1,3-β-glucans, DIA-T51 directly inhibits fungal growth and adherence, and enhances host immune-mediated clearance (such as phagocytosis by macrophages). It has demonstrated preclinical efficacy both as a monotherapy and in synergistic combination with conventional antifungal agents like amphotericin B and echinocandins.
