Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Diabetinol is a plant-based nutraceutical complex developed for the management of blood glucose and HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The formulation is primarily composed of citrus bioflavonoids, specifically nobiletin (49%) and tangeretin (13%), supplemented with limonoids, tocotrienols, and vitamin E. It functions as an adjunctive therapy to conventional antidiabetic medications like metformin, aiming to improve glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity while providing cardiovascular benefits by lowering total cholesterol and LDL-C levels. Clinical data from a 24-week randomized controlled trial indicates that Diabetinol can help patients achieve glycemic and lipid targets more effectively than conventional therapy alone. Mangoceuticals (MangoRx) acquired the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute the product in the U.S. and Canada from Navy Wharf in 2024.
