Diakine-DK12 is a preclinical-stage intratumoral immunocytokine developed by DEKA Biosciences. It is a recombinant fusion protein designed to target the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) while simultaneously delivering two potent cytokines, Interleukin-12 (IL-12) and Interleukin-7 (IL-7), directly into the tumor microenvironment. By targeting EGFR, the drug localizes to solid tumors, where IL-12 promotes Th1 differentiation and cytotoxic T-cell activity, and IL-7 supports T-cell survival and homeostatic proliferation. This dual-cytokine approach aims to overcome the immunosuppressive nature of the tumor microenvironment and stimulate a robust local anti-tumor immune response while minimizing systemic toxicity through intratumoral administration.
