Diallyl Trisulfide (DATS) is a small molecule phytochemical derived from garlic (Allium sativum L.). It functions as a hydrogen sulfide (H2S) donor and exhibits a range of therapeutic potentials, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-ferroptotic effects. DATS has been shown to suppress tumor-associated macrophage M2-like polarization and recruitment by blocking the CCL5/STAT3 signaling pathway, and it inhibits alcohol dehydrogenase I (ADH1) through a mechanism involving subunits separation. It is currently under investigation for its potential in treating conditions such as hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury and lung cancer.
