Overview
AMI lotion is a topical combination therapy containing diaminopyrimidine oxide (also known as Aminexil), 6-gingerol, and niacinamide, developed for the management of mild to moderate androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The formulation is designed to increase hair density by preventing the degradation of Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1-alpha (HIF-1alpha), a transcription factor involved in hair follicle cycling and vascularization. Clinical data presented at the AAD 2026 meeting demonstrated that 12 weeks of five-times-weekly application significantly increased anagen hair density and reduced telogen hair loss in both men and women, generating approximately 14,817 new hairs on average. The product combines the collagen-softening effects of diaminopyrimidine oxide with the bioactive properties of 6-gingerol and the barrier-enhancing and anti-inflammatory effects of niacinamide.
