Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Diapodil is a topical ALIAmide-based formulation developed by Epitech for the management of foot skin and nail disorders, specifically targeting complications associated with diabetic foot syndrome. The primary active ingredient is adelmidrol, a synthetic analogue of the endogenous lipid palmitoylethanolamide (PEA). Diapodil functions through the ALIA (Autacoid Local Inflammation Antagonism) mechanism, which involves the down-regulation of mast cell activation and degranulation. By modulating dermo-epidermal hyper-reactivity and reducing the release of pro-inflammatory mediators, the formulation helps maintain skin homeostasis, supports the repair of the skin barrier, and prevents the progression of inflammatory lesions in patients with peripheral neurovascular impairment.
