Dibrompropamidine isetionate is an aromatic diamidine antiseptic that exerts its antimicrobial effects by disrupting microbial cell membrane integrity and function, as well as binding to nucleic acids to inhibit DNA synthesis. It is active against a wide range of Gram-positive bacteria (such as *Streptococcus* and *Staphylococcus*, including penicillin-resistant strains) and certain fungi.
