Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dicitrinone J is a rare carbon-bridged citrinin dimer isolated from the starfish-derived symbiotic fungus *Penicillium sp.* GGF 16-1-2. It is one of several novel secondary metabolites identified for their unique chemical structures and biological potential. Dicitrinone J has demonstrated potent antifungal activity against the plant pathogen *Colletotrichum gloeosporioides*. Furthermore, it has been evaluated for cytotoxic activity against human pancreatic cancer cell lines, including BXPC-3 and PANC-1, as part of research into marine-derived natural products for therapeutic applications.
