diclofenac + omeprazole

Diclofenac + omeprazole is a fixed-dose combination of two drugs. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (COX-1 and COX-2), enzymes responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain, inflammation, and fever. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system on gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion. The combination is primarily used to manage pain and inflammation in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute musculoskeletal pain, postoperative pain, migraines, and other painful conditions where NSAID therapy is indicated but there is also a need to reduce the risk of NSAID-induced gastrointestinal ulcers or mucosal damage[1][3][5]. This combination provides effective analgesia while protecting against gastrointestinal side effects associated with long-term NSAID use.
