Overview

Diclofenac + paracetamol is a fixed-dose combination of two small molecule drugs used for pain relief and inflammation. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation. Paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen) acts as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. The combination provides enhanced pain relief compared to either agent alone. It is primarily indicated for conditions such as headache, mild migraine, muscle pain, dental pain, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, painful menses, musculoskeletal joint conditions, skeletal muscle spasms, toothache, ear pain and backache[1][5].
