Diclofenac diethylamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby decreasing prostaglandin synthesis. Methyl salicylate and menthol act as counter-irritants; menthol stimulates TRPM8 receptors to produce a cooling sensation, while methyl salicylate provides a warming effect, together modulating pain perception through the gate control theory and improving local circulation.
