Overview

Diclofenac potassium (PRO-513) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulated as a buffered soluble powder for oral solution. It is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX), leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain. PRO-513 was originally developed by APR Applied Pharma Research and later licensed to ProEthic Pharmaceuticals for North America. Clinical trials demonstrated rapid onset and sustained relief from migraine symptoms, including headache, nausea, photophobia, and phonophobia[1][2][3][4][5].
