diclofenac sodium

Diklofenak Sodyum (diclofenac sodium) is a well-established, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and small molecule compound. It works by non-selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes, Prostaglandin G/H synthase 1 (COX-1) and Prostaglandin G/H synthase 2 (COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are key biological mediators of pain, fever, and inflammation. Originally developed by Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis), diclofenac sodium is widely approved and marketed globally under various brand names, including Voltaren, for the management of acute and chronic pain, inflammatory conditions, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and postoperative pain.
