Overview

Pedgrib is a pediatric combination medication developed by Howards Pharma, primarily indicated for the treatment of infantile colic and gastrointestinal spasms. It consists of two small molecule active ingredients: dicycloverine (also known as dicyclomine) and simethicone. Dicycloverine functions as an antispasmodic by antagonizing muscarinic acetylcholine receptors on gastrointestinal smooth muscle, thereby reducing contractions and pain. Simethicone acts as an anti-foaming agent that decreases the surface tension of gas bubbles in the digestive tract, facilitating their coalescence and expulsion. This dual-action approach addresses both the muscular spasms and the gas accumulation associated with pediatric abdominal distress. The product is approved and marketed as an oral solution or drops.
