Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Moxigrev-DF is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic emulsion containing the corticosteroid difluprednate and the fluoroquinolone antibiotic moxifloxacin. Developed by Grevis Pharma, it is indicated for the treatment of bacterial eye infections accompanied by inflammation, as well as for managing post-operative inflammation and pain following ocular surgery. Moxifloxacin acts as a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential for bacterial DNA replication and repair. Difluprednate is a potent synthetic glucocorticoid that binds to glucocorticoid receptors to suppress the synthesis of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins, thereby reducing ocular redness, swelling, and pain.
