Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Diflusap is a topical ophthalmic corticosteroid formulation containing 0.05% w/v difluprednate, developed and marketed by Sapient Laboratories. As a potent synthetic glucocorticoid, it exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic effects by acting as an agonist at the glucocorticoid receptor, which subsequently inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of inflammation and pain associated with ocular surgery, as well as the management of endogenous anterior uveitis. The formulation is an ophthalmic emulsion administered topically to the eye to reduce redness, swelling, and itching.
