Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DIFTETALL is a bivalent vaccine containing adsorbed diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, specifically formulated with a reduced antigen content (Td) for use in adults and adolescents. Developed and marketed by ASTRO Pharma, it is authorized in Italy as an injectable suspension in pre-filled syringes. The vaccine works by stimulating the immune system to produce specific antitoxins that neutralize the toxins produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani*, thereby providing active immunization against diphtheria and tetanus. It is primarily used for booster vaccinations or as part of a primary immunization schedule where a reduced diphtheria component is indicated.
