Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Digeril Reflux is an antacid and antiflatulent combination medication developed and marketed by Farmayala Pharmaceutical Company. It is composed of two active ingredients: magaldrate (800 mg), a magnesium aluminate hydrate complex, and simethicone (40-60 mg). Magaldrate acts as a non-systemic antacid by neutralizing gastric acid and maintaining a stomach pH between 3 and 5, which provides relief from heartburn and acid reflux. Simethicone is an anti-foaming agent that acts as a surfactant to reduce the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating their coalescence and expulsion to alleviate bloating and abdominal distension. The drug is manufactured by INDEUREC S.A. in Ecuador and is available in multiple formulations, including chewable tablets and oral suspensions.
