Overview

Dihydralazine is a prescription antihypertensive drug belonging to the hydrazinophthalazine chemical class. It acts primarily by combating the effects of adrenaline and expanding blood vessels (vasodilation), which lowers blood pressure and allows smoother blood flow. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of hydralazine, involving direct relaxation of vascular smooth muscle. Dihydralazine is generally administered orally in tablet form for the treatment of high blood pressure[1].
