Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of two small molecule drugs, diltiazem and niclosamide. Diltiazem is a non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker primarily used to treat hypertension, angina, and certain cardiac arrhythmias by inhibiting calcium influx into cardiac and vascular smooth muscle during depolarization. Niclosamide is an anthelmintic agent indicated for the treatment of tapeworm infections; it acts by inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation in the mitochondria of parasites, leading to their death. There are no known approved fixed-dose combination products containing both agents; this entry describes the theoretical or investigational use of these two drugs together.
