Overview

**DIM-C-pPhCl** is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the class of bis-indole-derived compounds known as C-DIMs. Its chemical name is 1,1-bis(3'-indolyl)-1-(p-chlorophenyl)methane. DIM-C-pPhCl acts as a **selective agonist of the orphan nuclear receptor Nurr1 (NR4A2)**, with limited activity on closely related receptors such as Nur77 and Nor1. In cell and animal models, it induces expression of pro-apoptotic and anti-proliferative genes and demonstrates significant antitumor activity, most notably through **activation of Nurr1-dependent transcription** and apoptosis in cancer cells. It has been studied preclinically for antineoplastic properties, including tumor growth inhibition and induction of apoptosis in models of bladder, colon, pancreatic, and other cancers.
