Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dimephosphon is an organophosphorus compound developed in Russia, primarily utilized for its anti-acidotic, membrane-stabilizing, and neuroprotective properties. It acts as a metabolic regulator that restores acid-base homeostasis by increasing the alkali reserve of the blood and reducing metabolic acidosis. In clinical practice, it is used to treat acute ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury, and chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency by improving cerebral microcirculation and metabolism. Additionally, it exhibits antioxidant activity and has been investigated for its effects on the respiratory center and various inflammatory skin conditions. It is available in several formulations, including oral solutions and intravenous concentrates.
