Overview

This is a **combination drug** comprising *dimethyl fumarate* and *glatiramer acetate*, both indicated for the treatment of **relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS)**. *Dimethyl fumarate* acts as an immunomodulator and neuroprotective agent by activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2–related factor 2 (Nrf2) pathway, reducing oxidative stress, and exerting anti-inflammatory effects[5]. It decreases lymphocyte counts and modulates immune cell responses. *Glatiramer acetate* is a synthetic peptide that shifts the immune system from a pro-inflammatory to an anti-inflammatory profile, promoting Th2 and Treg responses and modulating antigen-presenting cells to induce anti-inflammatory states[4][2][6]. Combination therapy has a safety profile similar to monotherapy and may help control breakthrough disease without significant new adverse effects[1].
