Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dimethylaminoethyl ginkgolide B mesylate (XQ-1H) is a novel, water-soluble derivative of ginkgolide B developed by Jiangsu Carephar Pharmaceutical and its subsidiaries. It acts as a potent and selective platelet-activating factor receptor (PAFR) antagonist. By blocking PAFR, XQ-1H inhibits platelet activation, reduces neuroinflammation, and attenuates neuronal apoptosis and pyroptosis. It is being developed for the treatment of acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease (ischemic stroke). Clinical trials include Phase I studies evaluating both oral tablet and intravenous injection formulations in healthy volunteers.
