Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dinggui Erqi Patch (also known as Dinggui Erqi Tie) is a widely used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) transdermal patch developed and manufactured by Yabao Pharmaceutical. It is formulated as a combination of three natural botanical ingredients: cloves (*Syzygium aromaticum*), cinnamon (*Cinnamomum cassia*), and long pepper (*Piper longum*). The patch is applied topically to the umbilicus (navel, specifically the Shenque acupoint). It is primarily indicated for the adjuvant treatment of pediatric diarrhea, abdominal pain, and flatulence. The therapeutic mechanism relies on the transdermal absorption of active volatile oils and herbal constituents through the thin umbilical skin, which bypasses first-pass hepatic metabolism to warm the middle jiao, dispel cold, regulate gastrointestinal motility, and relieve smooth muscle spasms.
