Overview

DingKunDan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula with a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty, specifically formulated for gynecological and reproductive health. It is a complex mixture of approximately 30 ingredients, including *Panax ginseng*, *Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum* (deer antler), *Angelica sinensis*, *Crocus sativus* (saffron), and *Lycium barbarum*. The formula is traditionally used to tonify qi, nourish blood, soothe the liver, and regulate menstruation. In modern clinical practice, DingKunDan is employed to treat primary dysmenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), and female infertility. It is frequently used as an adjuvant therapy in assisted reproductive technology (ART), such as IVF-ET, to improve endometrial receptivity and ovarian response. Its pharmacological effects are thought to involve the regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, modulation of sex hormone levels (including FSH, LH, and E2), and improvement of pelvic microcirculation.
