Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dingxin Recipe III (DXR III) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal compound formula primarily utilized for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis. It exerts its therapeutic effects through multiple pathways, including the upregulation of hepatic steroidogenic acute regulatory protein-related lipid transfer domain containing 4 (Stard4) to restore lipid homeostasis and the enhancement of the intestinal gut barrier via the short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs)/G-protein coupled receptor 43 (GPR43) signaling pathway. Research indicates that DXR III effectively reduces lipid accumulation and ameliorates hyperlipidemic injury. It is currently used in clinical practice in China and has been studied in animal models to elucidate its pharmacological mechanisms.
