Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Diosmin + hesperidin + troxerutin is a fixed-dose combination of three plant-derived bioflavonoids developed by Omikron Italia. The combination acts synergistically as a phlebotonic and vasoprotectant to improve venous tone, enhance microcirculation, and reduce capillary permeability. Diosmin increases venous tone by inhibiting catechol O-methyltransferase (COMT), thereby prolonging the vasoconstrictive effect of norepinephrine on the venous wall. Hesperidin and troxerutin contribute to vascular integrity by inhibiting enzymes like hyaluronidase, elastase, and collagenase, which degrade the extracellular matrix and compromise capillary walls. This combination is marketed as a dietary supplement (under the brand name Triade) and is used to manage symptoms of chronic venous disease (CVI), pelvic congestion syndrome, and acute hemorrhoidal disease.
