Overview

Diospyros lotus leaf extract (DLE) is a botanical extract derived from the leaves of the date plum or Caucasian persimmon tree. It is primarily composed of flavonoid compounds, with myricitrin being the most abundant constituent, alongside gallic acid, astragalin, and myricetin. DLE has demonstrated a range of pharmacological activities in preclinical models, including antipruritic effects mediated by the inhibition of STAT3 signaling and gastrin-releasing peptide receptors (GRPR). In metabolic research, it has shown anti-obesity and hepatoprotective properties by activating the AMPKα pathway, which in turn upregulates lipolysis and fatty acid oxidation regulators such as PPARα and CPT1. Currently, DLE is utilized as a research compound and is not associated with a specific pharmaceutical developer for commercial use.
