The DIOSynVax COVID-19 vaccine is a next-generation, computationally designed vaccine candidate developed to provide broad protection against SARS-CoV-2 (the virus causing COVID-19), its variants, and other related betacoronaviruses such as SARS and MERS. The technology uses digital immune optimization, protein structure analysis, and synthetic biology to design antigens that target conserved regions of the coronavirus spike protein essential for viral replication. This approach aims to elicit both neutralizing antibody and T-cell responses for robust immunity. The antigen payload can be delivered via various platforms including mRNA or DNA vaccines. Preclinical studies demonstrated strong immune responses across multiple animal models, and first-in-human Phase 1 trials have shown safety and tolerability in healthy volunteers. The vaccine is being developed by the University of Cambridge spinout company DIOSynVax in collaboration with partners such as Ethris GmbH and CEPI[2][3][4][5][6][7].
