DIPG-DC is an experimental autologous dendritic cell vaccine developed by Fundacio Sant Joan De Deu for the treatment of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a highly aggressive pediatric brain tumor. The manufacturing process involves isolating a patient's monocytes, differentiating them into dendritic cells, and pulsing them with a lysate derived from three specific DIPG cell lines (HSJD-DIPG-007, HSJD-DIPG-008, and HSJD-DIPG-011). These matured dendritic cells are then injected intradermally back into the patient, where they migrate to lymph nodes and present tumor-specific antigens to T-lymphocytes. This process is designed to bypass the tumor's immune evasion mechanisms and induce a robust, targeted anti-tumor immune response.
