Overview

The adsorbed acellular pertussis-diphtheria-tetanus combined vaccine (DTaP) is a trivalent vaccine developed and manufactured by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products. It is indicated for the active immunization of infants and children against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis. The vaccine is formulated by adsorbing purified diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, and acellular pertussis antigens (typically including pertussis toxoid and filamentous hemagglutinin) onto an aluminum-based adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. By stimulating the production of specific antibodies, the vaccine provides protection against the toxins produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani*, as well as the infection caused by *Bordetella pertussis*. It is a standard component of pediatric immunization programs in China.
