Overview

Comvac 4 (also known as Comvac 4 HB or COMVAC 4-Hb) is a tetravalent combination vaccine developed and manufactured by Bharat Biotech. It is designed for the active immunization of infants and young children against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and hepatitis B. The vaccine is formulated as a uniform suspension containing diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, inactivated whole-cell Bordetella pertussis, and recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) adsorbed on an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant. It is administered intramuscularly, typically in a three-dose primary series, to stimulate the production of protective antibodies against these four pathogens.
