Diphtheria and tetanus toxoids are inactivated bacterial toxins used as active components in vaccines to induce immunity against diphtheria and tetanus. These toxoids stimulate the immune system to produce specific antibodies, thereby preventing the diseases caused by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani*. They are frequently combined with acellular pertussis vaccine (forming DTaP or Tdap vaccines) or other vaccine components to provide broader protection.
