Overview

This is a hypothetical combination vaccine that would include protection against diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis (whooping cough), poliovirus, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), and varicella (chickenpox). Each component targets a different infectious disease: - Diphtheria and tetanus toxoids are inactivated toxins that stimulate immunity to diphtheria and tetanus. - Acellular pertussis contains purified components of the Bordetella pertussis bacterium to induce immunity against whooping cough. - Poliovirus vaccine is typically an inactivated virus preparation for polio prevention. - MMR combines live attenuated viruses for measles, mumps, and rubella. - Varicella virus vaccine uses a live attenuated strain to protect against chickenpox. Currently available vaccines combine some of these antigens—such as DTaP-IPV (diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis-inactivated polio) or MMRV (measles-mumps-rubella-varicella)—but no single licensed product combines all these components into one shot[1][2][4]. Such a combination would further reduce the number of injections required for full pediatric immunization coverage.
