This combination represents a hexavalent immunization regimen providing protection against six major childhood diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), hepatitis B, and poliomyelitis. The regimen induces active immunity through a variety of mechanisms, including toxin neutralization and the induction of systemic and mucosal antibodies against viral and bacterial pathogens.
