diTe-vax is a bivalent toxoid vaccine developed by the Finlay Vaccine Institute for the prevention of diphtheria and tetanus. The vaccine is composed of purified diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, which are toxins produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani* that have been chemically treated to render them non-toxic while maintaining their immunogenicity. These toxoids are adsorbed onto an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant to enhance the immune response. Upon administration, diTe-vax stimulates the production of specific neutralizing antibodies (antitoxins) that provide protection against the systemic effects of diphtheria and tetanus infections. It is typically administered via intramuscular injection and is used for primary immunization or as a booster dose in both children and adults.
