The DTaP-IPV combination vaccine is an investigational multi-antigen vaccine being developed by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products (BJBPI). It is designed to provide simultaneous protection against four major infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and poliomyelitis. The vaccine formulation typically consists of diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (such as pertussis toxoid and filamentous hemagglutinin), and inactivated poliovirus (IPV) types 1, 2, and 3. As an adsorbed vaccine, it likely utilizes an aluminum-based adjuvant to enhance the immune response. By combining these antigens into a single injection, the vaccine aims to simplify pediatric immunization schedules, reduce the number of required injections, and improve vaccination compliance. It is currently in the preclinical development stage.
