This combination vaccine is designed to provide active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and invasive diseases caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib) in infants and young children. Developed by Beijing Minhai Biotechnology, the specific formulation mentioned in clinical trials is an adsorbed, acellular vaccine (DTaP-Hib). The acellular pertussis component typically contains purified antigens such as pertussis toxoid (PT) and filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), which are associated with a lower incidence of adverse reactions compared to whole-cell pertussis vaccines. The Hib component consists of the polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP) capsular polysaccharide conjugated to a carrier protein, such as tetanus toxoid, to enhance immunogenicity in young children by inducing a T-cell dependent immune response. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and is a key part of pediatric immunization programs in China, where Minhai's DTaP-Hib was first approved in 2012.
