DTaP-HB-PRP~T vaccine is a pentavalent combination vaccine developed by Sanofi Pasteur for pediatric immunization. It is designed to provide simultaneous protection against five major infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) infection. The vaccine formulation combines diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (DTaP), recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and the Hib capsular polyribosyl-ribitol-phosphate (PRP) conjugated to a tetanus toxoid carrier (PRP~T). This combination is particularly intended for use in regions following the WHO Expanded Program on Immunization (WHO-EPI) schedule, where it can be co-administered with the oral polio vaccine (OPV) to reduce the number of required injections. Phase 3 clinical trials have evaluated its immunogenicity and safety as both a primary series and a booster dose in infants and toddlers.
