Overview

A combination vaccine containing five antigens: **diphtheria toxoid**, **tetanus toxoid**, **acellular pertussis antigens** (usually including pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, pertactin, fimbriae 2 and 3), **inactivated poliovirus serotypes 1, 2, and 3**, and **Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) polysaccharide conjugated to tetanus toxoid (PRP-T)**. The vaccine induces protective immunity by generating antibody responses to each included antigen, thereby preventing diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, and invasive Haemophilus influenzae type b disease in infants and young children. It is administered intramuscularly in children from 6 weeks up to 4 years of age, prior to the fifth birthday[1][3][5][9].
